What is the Psi Chi Appeals Process?
May I use transfer courses from another institution as I apply to Psi Chi?
Yes, you may. In addition to indicating this course on your application, please also attach your UCSC transcript as well as transcripts from other institutions. The latter is optional unless you just transferred to UCSC and do not have 20 UCSC psychology units.
May I use AMS 5 or AMS 7 to count for a psychology course?
Yes, AMS 5 or AMS 7 will be counted the same as PSYC 2, but you cannot use both to count towards your 20 units.
May I submit my application without the $80 to see if I am accepted first, then pay later?
If you would like to do this, please submit your application one week prior to the regular deadline stated on our website. You will then be notified of your admission decision; if accepted, your membership fee is due on the date of the regular deadline.
What if I didn’t turn in all parts of the application?
As long as we have all of your materials by the posted deadline we will review your application.
Where do I submit my application?
The Psi Chi box, which is located on the second floor of SS2, behind the main entrance staircase and next to the Psi Chi posting board.
I couldn’t attend my induction ceremony. Where can I get my certificate?
Please send an email to email@example.com with your first and last name, requesting your membership materials and we’ll be happy to get them to you.
I can’t find the answer to my question here. Who can I contact?
