May I use transfer courses from another institution as I apply to Psi Chi?

Yes you may. In addition to indicating this course on your application, please also attach your UCSC transcript as well as transcripts from other institutions. The latter is optional unless you just transferred to UCSC and do not have 20 UCSC psychology units.

May I use AMS 5 or AMS 7 to count for a psychology course?

Yes, AMS 5 or AMS 7 can replace PSYC 2, but you cannot use both to count towards your 20 units.

May I submit my application without the $80 to see if I am accepted first, then pay later?

If you would like to do this, please submit your application one week prior to the regular deadline stated on our website. You will then be notified of your admission decision; if accepted, your membership fee is due on the date of the regular deadline.

If you are applying through the appeals process, you may still follow the above directions, turning in your application one week prior to the regular deadline and waiting for a decision before submitting your fee.

What if I didn’t turn in all parts of the application?

As long as we have all of your materials by the regular deadline (and one week before, if you are submitting an appeal or an app for the scholarship) then we will review your application.

Where do I submit my application?

The Psi Chi box, which is located in SS2 room 277, the Psychology Department printing room. When you enter, turn to the right. The Psi Chi box is on top of the large filing drawers.

I didn’t attend inductions. Where can I get my certificate, membership card, and pin?

Please send an email to psichiucsc@gmail.com with your first and last name, requesting for your membership materials.

I can’t find the answer to my question here. Who can I contact?
