Psi Chi Scholarship

Psi Chi is an honor society that is based on one’s scholastic ability in the discipline of psychology and thus the membership fee is a condition that does not necessitate one’s academic excellence. Because the membership fee may deter eligible students from applying due to financial need, Psi Chi, UCSC would like to award the Psi Chi, UCSC Scholarship to one student per quarter. Psi Chi, UCSC will waive the $80 membership fee ($25 for the chapter fee and $55 for the headquarter fee). To apply for the Psi Chi, UCSC Scholarship a student must:

1. Meet all Psi Chi, UCSC requirements (a student cannot apply for both an appeal and the Psi Chi, UCSC Scholarship).
2. Fill out Psi Chi Member Application and Registration Card (refer to Psi Chi, UCSC application).
3. Provide UNOFFICIAL transcripts from ALL colleges attended
4. Write a 1-2 page essay addressing your hardships and experience as a psychology student, why you would like to be a part of Psi Chi and why you deserve the Psi Chi, UCSC Scholarship. In the top left corner please put your Name, GPA, and Email Address.
Note: Please place essay at the front of application

All scholarship applications must be turned in with a complete Psi Chi, UCSC application on the posted application due date of the standard application, to the Psi Chi box in Social Sciences 2 (after walking up the first flight of stairs, the PSI CHI ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD will be directly behind you, to the right there will be a dropbox)

**The scholarship process is honor based and we ask that students who can afford the membership fee do NOT apply**

All materials are available on the Psi Chi website at Applications
