INTERESTED IN PRESENTING YOUR RESEARCH??
Psi Chi is hosting the Psi Chi Undergraduate Research Conference on May 19th. If you are interested in presenting, fill out the google form at the bottom of the email. Psi Chi members will be given priority over non-psi chi members! WOO! Come out and talk to faculty, grad students, and other undergrads about your projects. There will be free catering as well!
Are you interested in becoming an officer for Psi Chi for next year? We’re currently accepting applications for positions opening at the end of this year! Fill out the online application here:
Psi Chi Officer Application
What does it mean to be a Psi Chi officer? Officer positions are a year-long commitment to perform officer duties like putting on events, attending officer meetings, and tasks specific to your position.
Where can I find more information about the officer positions? Here: Officer Positions!
What makes a good officer? Being an officer means being part of the Psi Chi team, so if you have strong collaborative and communicative skills you’ll be a good fit. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic about Psi Chi and about UCSC so we can make Psi Chi the best it can be.
Can I apply for more than one position? Yes! Make sure you describe why you think you’d be a good fit for all the positions you are applying for.
Sounds great, when can I start? If you’re elected to an officer position we’ll start training sometime next quarter, so please have some time in your schedule for some casual training.
Is there anything else I need to know? Being a Psi Chi officer is a commitment. We expect that officers will be engaged and will make time in their schedule for Psi Chi. We want officers who want to be officers, rather than using Psi Chi as a way to boost your own resume. We also want your ideas and your suggestions. Psi Chi changes every year with new officers so your voice will shape Psi Chi going forward. If you care about Psi Chi, about psychology, and about UCSC, then we want you on the team.
What if I have more questions about being an officer? Great! Send us an email and we’ll get back to you!
We look forward to reading your applications!
Hang out with Psi Chi and study for your upcoming exams, work on a project, or find a study buddy for finals!
When: Sunday, February 19, 10:30am – 1pm
Where: McHenry Room 4372
What: A study session with coffee, donuts, and scantrons 🙂
We’ll see you there!
It’s a new year and a new Psi Chi!
Our first body meeting is this Thursday at 5 pm in McHenry 0345 (on the ground floor). We have some great events and workshops planned for this quarter, and updates to cover, so we’ve got a lot to talk about!
A reminder on “active” requirements: To be considered active you need to attend:
– One (1) Event
– One (1) Fundraiser OR One (1) Additional Event
each quarter. If you’re an active member you’ll get a cord to wear at graduation, so be an active member and rep your hard work!
We’re looking forward to seeing you Thursday!
– Psi Chi
Hi everyone! We hope you had a restful break and a smooth start to your quarter.
Some quick updates:
- We are in the process of reviewing applications now, so if you applied before the break expect to hear from us this weekend.
- We are putting together our events calendar for the quarter now, so check back soon to see what we have planned.
Questions? Events that you’d like to see Psi Chi put on this year? Send us and email!
Come study for finals with Psi Chi this weekend! We’ll bring the coffee and donuts to get you through your study day, and scantrons to get you through your finals week! We’ll be in McHenry room 4372 from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, December 3rd – enjoy a quiet place to study free from distracting roommates, or drop in to grab a donut and say hi :).
Good luck on all your finals!!
