What is Psi Chi?
The short of it: Psi Chi is an international honor society in psychology. For the long of it: learn more here.
What are the benefits of joining Psi Chi?
When can I join Psi Chi?
We post specific application due dates on the applications page, but applications are generally due in the first few weeks of each quarter.
What is the Psi Chi Scholarship?
To ensure equal opportunity for all students, Psi Chi began a scholarship in the 2010 to 2011 school year for those who are eligible to join Psi Chi but cannot pay the membership fee. See here for more information.
What is the Psi Chi Appeals Process?
May I use transfer courses from another institution as I apply to Psi Chi?
Yes, you may. In addition to indicating this course on your application, please also attach your UCSC transcript as well as transcripts from other institutions. The latter is optional unless you just transferred to UCSC and do not have 20 UCSC psychology units.
May I use AMS 5 or AMS 7 to count for a psychology course?
Yes, AMS 5 or AMS 7 (but not both) are considered equivalent to PSYC 2.
May I submit my application without the $80 to see if I am accepted first, then pay later?
If you would like to do this, please send us an email directly letting us know in advance of the posted application deadline.
What if I didn’t turn in all parts of the application?
We need all parts of your application by the posted application deadline.
Where do I submit my application?
Submit application materials to the Psi Chi box, which is located on the second floor of SS2, behind the main entrance staircase and next to the Psi Chi posting board.
I couldn’t attend my induction ceremony. Where can I get my certificate?
